SPECTRUM Members visit Faiveley Transport Facility

FaiveleyWebPicSPECTRUM project members and NewRail employees Ross Jackson and Emmanuel Matsika made a visit to the Faiveley Transport facility in Amiens, France recently.

Faiveley Transport is an important SPECTRUM project partner and involved heavily in the design and demonstrator elements of the project.

NewRail members Ross and Emmanuel were warmly greeted by Faiveley representatives Setha Net and Gilles Boisseau who will bring invaluable expertise in freight wagon braking and electrical systems.

Setha had previously been unable to attend the WP2 KO meeting held in Stockholm earlier and had some important questions which needed addressing.

The meeting began with a Favively Transport overview presentation delivered by Gilles which detailed the company's expertise.

A SPECTRUM progress update presentation was then delivered by Ross Jackson which presented the early stage findings of SPECTRUM and the direction in which the project is heading.

Emmanuel Matsika then detailed his plans for the conceptual design phase of the project and more specifically Faiveley's projected involvement in these tasks.

The day was wrapped up with a short tour of the Amiens facility where a number of products were undergoing rigorous testing and development.
