SPECTRUM Second Full Consortium Meeting

Gap Analysis WorkshopThe SPECTRUM project is now into its second year, signalling the second SPECTRUM full consortium meeting! The two day meeting which included a GAP analysis workshop was held in Hungarian capital and historic city of Budapest on June 13th and 14th.

The meeting was deliberately held at such a time to coincide with the RETRACK final conference held over the previous two days at which many SPECTRUM partners were present.

It was the majestic Marble Hall of the Szechenyi Baths that played host to both the day 1 full consortium meeting and the GAP analysis held on day 2.

The event was attended by close to forty delegates from across Europe and included a range of system manufacturers, consultants, infrastructure managers and academics. The event also saw the inaugural SPECTRUM advisory board meeting.

The objective of the event - which saw the inaugural SPECTRUM advisory board meeting, was to achieve a common understanding of the work completed to date, the work to be completed in the near future and to attract constructive criticism from all partners and the advisory board in order to strengthen the project moving forward.

The meeting commenced with a welcome and introduction from SPECTRUM project manager and chairman of the meeting Ross Jackson who thanked participants for their attendance and outlined the programme of events.

A further five presentation were delivered throughout the course of the day, covering the key findings of the logistics and market analysis and outlining plans for the forthcoming conceptual design stage of the project.

Later that evening SPECTRUM partners reconvened for an evening meal at the Halászbástya restaurant overlooking the city.

The GAP analysis which forms a crucial part of work package two was delivered in a workshop style format with delegates splitting into groups and attempting to identify which aspects of the SPECTRUM requirements were likely to make the greatest impact and which of these were achievable.

Feedback after the meeting suggested the two days had been a success and some useful ideas had been generated as a result.

Project members can find presentations and minutes from the event from the Document Download section of the site.
